UX Designer
Amica Mutual Insurance Company is America’s oldest mutual insurer of automobiles. A direct national writer, Amica also offers home, marine and umbrella insurance. Amica Life Insurance Company, a wholly owned subsidiary, provides life insurance and retirement solutions.
Responsible for design deliverables and ensuring that they adhere to corporate style and branding guidelines
Lead design efforts of small and medium size and complexity
Research emerging web-based technologies and trends, including user interface design and usability research best practices. Monitor both Amica’s and our competitors’ online activities to suggest enhancements and use data to inform design choices
Provide effective, proactive and professional communications, escalating issues appropriately
Assist in mentoring and providing guidance and direction to design team members, which may include task assignment and oversight of the design team's work product
Provide input into team deliverables, ensuring the highest standards of quality are displayed
Contribute to emerging design team processes and deliverables including developing site user experience standards
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues, vendors, business stakeholders and CIS project personnel
Investigate users' interaction with the current application, which may include facilitating usability studies
Perform various projects and duties as assigned by management.
Proficiency in tools associated with web design work
Working knowledge and understanding of user-centered design concepts and best practices
Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years experience or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job
Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to develop and foster business relationships
Highly organized and detail oriented with ability to quickly organize and manage multiple efforts
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
